Privacy Notice

QR Code & Barcode Scanner is an application published by Abra Cadabra Innovations. The app points the camera at a code, turns it into readable text, and keeps a list of what you scanned. This notice describes the information involved in that process.

Camera

Camera access is requested for one reason: the live view has to be examined for a QR code or barcode. Frames are analysed as they arrive and released immediately. The app does not record video, does not photograph what the camera sees, and does not send the viewfinder anywhere.

Scan Results and History

What a code contains — a web address, plain text, contact details, network settings, a product number — is written to a list held on the device so you can return to it later. Entries can be removed one at a time or cleared in full from the app. Deleting the app removes the list with it.

Codes You Create

Text you type into the generator to build your own code is used to draw that code and is stored with the rest of your local items. Saving the picture to your gallery is your own action and requires the corresponding system permission.

Images From the Gallery

If you decode a picture that already exists on the device, photo access is requested at that moment. Only the file you point at is opened, and it is opened to look for a code in it — the library is not browsed or catalogued.

Diagnostics and App Events

Reliability information reaches us in a form that is not tied to your name: app version and build, device model, system version, language and region, crash traces, error codes, timing measurements, and counters showing which screens were reached. Scan content is excluded from all of it.

Install and Campaign Measurement

Limited attribution signals, supplied by the platform or by measurement partners, tell us where installs came from and how paid access performs in aggregate. Device-level tracking is governed by the iOS prompt, and refusing it leaves every feature working.

Purchases

Paid access is sold and billed by the App Store. Card numbers never pass through the app. Subscription state, product identifier, renewal status, transaction reference, and store region reach us so that unlocked features can be granted and restored.

Providers We Work With

Outside services handle analytics, crash reporting, attribution, receipt validation, and hosting on our behalf. Each receives the narrow slice described above, works to our instructions where the law applies, and remains bound by its own published terms.

Destinations Behind a Code

A scanned address is shown to you before anything opens. Choosing to open it hands the address to your browser or to another app, and from that point the destination decides what it collects. We have no part in that exchange and no view of it. Treat unknown codes the way you would treat an unknown link.

Keeping and Discarding

Your history lives on the device for as long as you keep it there. Diagnostic and commercial records are held only while they serve reliability, billing, legal, or abuse-prevention purposes, then discarded.

Safeguards

Transfers to our providers travel over encrypted connections, and access to what they hold is limited to people who need it. Every digital system carries residual risk, so no absolute guarantee is offered.

Requests

Local law may give you the right to see the technical records connected with your installation, to correct or erase them, to limit or object to their use, to receive a copy, or to take back a consent you gave earlier. Ask by email and we will handle it within the period the law sets.

Processing Across Borders

Our providers run infrastructure in several countries, so technical and support records may be handled outside the place you live. Recognised safeguards are applied to those transfers where they are required.

Younger Users

QR Code & Barcode Scanner is not aimed at children under 13, and information belonging to them is not knowingly processed. A parent or guardian who has reason to think otherwise should write to us so the matter can be looked into and resolved.

Revisions

This notice is refreshed as the app changes. The date near the title always marks the version currently in force, and using the app after a revision means it applies to you.
